Crown Jewel

Every cocktail I create represents a phase of my life, and it took me some time to figure out how to close the No Man’s Peace chapter. Initially, I wanted to name this Celibacy since your girl has no time to entertain crusty dusty men anymore, but this drink deserved something quieter, more powerful.

The black radish rose symbolizes the garden I’ve nurtured with hard work and care, while the edible flowers reflect the good people and opportunities that make it bloom. The delicate garnish represents guarding access to your world, and the base, creamy and feminine, embodies inner peace. The way you enjoy this drink is after appreciating how far you’ve come, you take the rose garden down, slice a piece with a knife, then take a sip of the drink. You’ve earned this moment of peace.

This drink is a reminder to say yes to yourself and no to anyone who disrespects your choices.

Recipe:
* Toasted white rice-infused gin, 2 oz
* Jasmine Verte, 0.5 oz by @muyu_liqueurs @monicasuh —a powerful symbol of femininity and strength
* Extra dry vermouth, 0.25 oz
* Expressed grapefruit peel

Adjust the flavor with saline solution and toasted white rice syrup. Since I wanted to keep the base a creamy white color, I couldn’t toast the white rice too golden, or the base would turn yellowish. However, I preferred the richer flavor of more toasted rice, so if you don’t mind the color, feel free to toast it longer. Even with my adjustments, the base still had a slight yellow tint, so I shook the drink with 0.5 oz of rice and water (congee texture) to achieve the final creamy white look. I expressed the grapefruit peel in the shaker before pouring it into the flute to avoid an overpowering aroma when you inhale.

The Rose Garden:
Black radish, pear, Brie cheese, honey, purple radish sprout, basil flower, lavender, and edible gold. Wrap the base with plastic wrap to avoid the juice dripping in the base.
