A luxurious summer twist on the classic Negroni.
A huge thank you to Oishii Strawberry for this fun and delicious collaboration! 🍓 It was an absolute pleasure to create "The Dutch" for a luxury building using the most luxurious strawberries. When they reached out and asked me to create a cocktail using their strawberries, I really killed all my brain cells trying to come up with something super unnecessary complicated. In the end, I'm glad I stuck with something super easy to make at home and easy to batch for events too.
This exquisite cocktail harmonizes the velvety texture of premium sake with the lush sweetness of Oishii strawberry-infused Campari. A hint of amaretto lends a rich, nutty depth, while chocolate bitters add a sophisticated, subtly decadent undertone. Finished with a zestful lemon twist, this drink is both refreshing and complex, offering a delightful sensory experience perfect for warm summer evenings.
Recipe:
Konteki Tears of Dawn Sake 1oz
Oishii strawberry infused Campari 1oz
Amaretto 0.5oz
Chocolate bitters 2 dashes
Express a lemon twist
Garnish with a Oishii strawberry
Detailed instruction:
Infuse Campari with frozen Oishii Omakase strawberries for more than 6 hours to slightly dilute the Campari while utilizing the natural sweetness of the Oishii strawberry to balance the bitterness of the Campari. Depending on your environment hours may defer, do a quick taste test, it should have a strong strawberry flavor and with the frozen dilution the Campari is less on the bitter end. (Ratio: 4oz of Campari /0.15lb of frozen Oishii Omakase strawberry)
Mix the sake, amaretto, Campari, chocolate bitters in a mixing glass than add ice to stir
Pour the mix over clear ice then express with lemon twist on top
Garnish with the Oishii strawberry for pairing :) Cheers!
